Delta Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) is a private, non-profit cooperative owned by the 30,000 members it serves in Southwestern Colorado. DMEA has been nationally recognized for its leadership and marketing prowess in promoting new technologies that use electricity in environmentally sustainable ways.

Our Mission is to increase the understanding and appreciation of energy science and technology in order to enable decision-makers to adopt energy practices that produce economic benefits, reduce environmental impacts and increase the sustainability of energy supply. The three founding members, Battelle, Bechtel, and the Midwest Research Institute, who share in the management of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, provided start-up funding in 2000. CESC has been approved for 501(c)3 status. The U.S. Department of Energy is supporting the organization by providing CESC the use of the NREL Visitor Center.
